Dalph Panopio and CSU Bakersfield were overwhelmed by Big West leader Cal State Fullerton, absorbing a 61-75 defeat, Sunday (Manila time) at Titan Gym in Fullerton, California.
Though going 2-of-2 from the field for five points, Panopio could not take control of the ball, turning the ball over four times in 13 minutes of play.
It was an overall struggle for the Road Runners as it started the game 0-of-7 from the field that paved the way for a 25-36 deficit at the half.
The Titans started the second half with a 22-7 blitz to blow the game wide open.
All in all, the hosts went 12-of-22 from downtown while the Roadrunners went just 23-of-58 from the field.
Fullerton saw five players score in double-digits with Damari Milstead leading the way with 17 points built on five treys. Latrell Wrightsell Jr. got 15 points, making a living from the foul stripe with seven, while Tray Maddox Jr. added 13 points on three triples.
David Walker was the sole player in double-digits for the Road Runners with 14 points.
CSUB suffered its fourth straight loss to fall to 6-10 for the season and 1-5 in Big West play. Cal State Fullerton, meanwhile, went up to 6-1 in the conference and 13-6 overall.
CSUB comes back home on Wednesday to face UC Santa Barbara.
