Panaga out for seven to 10 more days, bares Meneses

BACARRA, ILOCOS NORTE — Creamline middle blocker Jeanette Panaga is expected to be out for a maximum of 10 more days, according to assistant coach Sherwin Meneses, Sunday.

Panaga suffered a sprained right ankle last Thursday during the Cool Smashers’ five-set victory over the Black Mamba-Army Lady Troopers.

“Nakausap ko ‘yung sa PT department namin. Almost seven to ten days [from the day of the injury],” said Meneses.

“Pero sana mas mababa pa doon.”

The two-time PVL first and second best middle blocker sat out the Cool Smashers’ 25-16, 25-12, 25-13 sweep of the PLDT Power Hitters.

With Panaga out against PLDT, Risa Sato and Celine Domingo, and even Pau Soriano took turns in manning the net for Creamline.

The troika put up a combined effort of 13 points in the victory.

Barring any complications, the College of Saint Benilde product can suit up against BaliPure on Wednesday at the earliest; or the latest against Chery Tiggo on Friday.
