With the East Asia Super League changing the format of its inaugural season, Taipei Fubon decided to loan its Asian import to a team from a rival league.
Sedrick Barefield will instead play for T1 League’s Tainan TSG for the 2022-23 season after being loaned by Taipei Fubon to them.
Initially, Barefield, 25, was signed by the Braves to serve as their Asian import in the EASL. P.League+ rules though only classify its imports under the world category.
Taipei Fubon already has Chris Johnson, Mike Singletary, Brendon Smart, and Ihor Zaytsev filling those spots.
So instead of letting Barefield sit idly until the EASL Champions Week next year, the Braves opted to loan the Filipino-American guard to the Ghosthawks.
Tainan TSG finished sixth last season after tallying just six wins against 24 losses.
The T1 League season begins on October 30.
