ONIC PH falls to Indonesian sister team to open M3 campaign

ONIC Philippines fumbled late, falling to reigning MPL Indonesia champion and sister club ONIC Esports in the M3 World Championship campaign with a win at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.

Through the early exploits of Marky “Markyyyyy” Capacio (Lylia) and Kairi “Kairi” Rayosfelsol (Lancelot), ONIC Philippines managed to take an early lead from the Indonesian counterparts.

However, a crucial clash near the Luminous Lord pit entering the 20-minute mark saw ONIC Esports secure a four-man wipe and eventually, the objective, to turn back the streaking ONIC Philippines.

Drian led the way for the Indonesians with five kills, two deaths, and four assists.

The Indonesians now have a 0-1 slate in Group B while the Filipinos slid to 0-1.

Markyyyyy finished with three kills, a death, and 10 assists in the 15-12 loss in 20 minutes and 39 seconds.

Kairi had five kills and five assists against two deaths. Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales (Aamon) ended with a 7-4-4 line.

ONIC Philippines will take on Todak at 5:00 PM. Then they cap off the day against Keyd Stars at 7:00 PM.
