Entering ONE on Prime Video 4, Bibiano Fernandes flaunted his superior grappling skills against Stephen Loman. After all, Fernandes is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Well, on Saturday, Loman was ready to show what Baguio Jiu-jitsu was all about.
The former Brave CF champion notched the biggest victory in his young career, dominating the former ONE Bantamweight world champion en route to a lopsided unanimous decision win at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The opening round saw Loman pepper Fernandes with an array of differently-angled punches and kicks. Closing out the stanza was a huge takedown from Loman that surprised not just the Brazilian but also the crowd.
It set up what was the next 10 minutes of the contest.
Fernandes gunned for Loman’s neck early in the second round but the Filipino was ready for it, spinning around, taking guard, and bombarding Fernandes with big shots.
Gaining confidence, Loman took Fernandes down with ease in the third round to secure his 11th straight win, third in ONE Championship.
Loman, 30, went up to 17-2 in his career while dropping skidding Fernandes to 24-6.
