ONE Championship held their end-of-the-year show in explosive fashion Friday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
In ONE Championship’s seventh show in the Pearl of the Orient, Filipino-American heavyweight Brandon Vera was able to find gold in the Philippines in a 26 second blitz against Taiwanese opponent Paul “Typhoon” Cheng. “The Truth” made true to his promise to win the ONE World Heavyweight Championship and shared the victory with each and every Filipino.
In the co-main event, late-replacement Australian Reese McLaren rallied back from a pounding in the first two rounds to secure a third round submission victory over Filipino-American bantamweight Mark “Mugen” Striegl. In addition, Ana “the Hurricane” Julaton was out-struck by Russian kickboxer Irina Mazepa in a three-round beatdown in women’s flyweight action.
Filipino flyweight Eugene Toquero entertained in the undercard, while Singaporean siblings Angela and Christian Lee dominated their opponents respectively. Moreover, Brazilian Bruno Pucci and British fighter Anthony Engelen thrilled in their featherweight scrap with the Brazilian Jiujitsu specialist going out on top.
