Making their debut in the national scene, the Philippine National Obstacle Race Team made sure to introduce themselves with gold around their necks.
Popoy Pascua, Rochelle Suarez, the mixed team assist squad, and the mixed team relay quartet took down their respective competitions in the 30th Southeast Asian Games, Wednesday at Filinvest Alabang, Muntinlupa.
In the finale of the 100-meter x 10 obstacle, Pascua outlasted Malaysia’s Mohd Redha Rozlan with times of 30.99 and 29.92 in the two heats, respectively.
Suarez followed it up with times of 47.02 and 46.70 against compatriot Milky Tejares to win the team’s second gold.
Kyle Antolin, Kaizen Dela Serna, Monolito Divina, and Deanne Moncada bagged the mixed team assist 400-meter x 12 obstacle with times of 3:49.37 and 3:48.35.
Finally, Diana Buhler, Jeffrey Reginio, Klymille Rodriguez, and Nathaniel Sanchez won gold in the mixed team relay 400-meter x 12 obstacle event after beating Malaysia in the heads-up finale with times of 2:00.92 and 1:59.56.
