NU’s Sinclair, Clemente banner Philippines in FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championships


Batang Gilas mainstays John Lloyd Clemente and Joshua Sinclair will lead the Philippine men’s team in the 2016 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan which is set to begin on Wednesday, June 1.

Theo Joshua Flores and Kyle Christian Tan make up the rest of the squad, which is bracketed in Pool D, along with defending champion New Zealand, Brazil, Spain, and Hungary.

The Philippines will face New Zealand and Brazil on June 2, before wounding up its elimination round campaign against Spain and Hungary both on June 4.

The top two teams in each of the four pools advance to the knockout quarterfinals.

Last year, the Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero-led team finished with a 2-3 record in the elimination round but did not qualify in the Round of 16. The team finished 17th overall among 24 teams.
