No Valdez in Clash of Heroes

Alyssa Valdez will not participate in the Clash of Heroes fund-raiser slated on Monday

According to a release from the Creamline Cool Smashers, Valdez’s current club team, the three-time UAAP MVP simply cannot risk being injured while in the middle of a tightly-contested PVL Reinforced Conference.

“The Creamline Cool Smashers are in the middle of a tight tournament schedule in the Premier Volleyball League, where Aly has played in straight game days and has had to do more for the team in light of the continuing delay of the release of the ITCs required for our imports to play. We cannot risk injury to her from overplay,” the team said in a statement signed by team managers Rolando Delfino and Alan Acero.

Since the event was announced, Valdez never confirmed that she would be participating in the Clash of Heroes, which was organized to raise funds for the Philippine Team’s overseas training.

This could put Valdez’s chances of making the final roster for the SEA Games and AVC Seniors tournamnet in jeopardy after head coach Francis Vicente expressed his dismay at Valdez through several reports.
