NLEX will bring in a former NBA pro as its import for the 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Former Memphis Grizzly Myke Henry will reinforce the Road Warriors, the team announced on Tuesday evening.
Road Warriors head coach Jong Uichico expressed his enthusiasm for Henry’s addition to the team.
“Myke is a well-pedigreed player whom we expect will help the team. He is an all-around player with excellent credentials,” said Uichico.
“We are confident that his experience and versatility will be assets to our team as we aim for success in the Governors’ Cup.”
Henry, a 31-year-old former NBA pro standing at 6-foot-6, brings a wealth of international and professional experience to the team.
He is a product of DePaul University, where he showcased his basketball skills before entering the professional ranks.
Henry signed with the OKC Blue in the G-League in 2016.
In 2018, he earned a spot with Memphis in the NBA.
After his NBA stint, Henry gained valuable experience playing for various clubs around the world, including teams in Israel, Italy, France, Greece, Poland, Mexico, and Indonesia.
Last season, he played for the Indonesian team Satria Muda Pertamina.
Additionally, Henry made an appearance for Team USA’s 3×3 team, winning a silver medal at the 2016 World Cup.
NLEX is grouped with San Miguel, Ginebra, Rain or Shine, Phoenix, and Blackwater in the opening tilt.
