Calvin Abueva is listed in Phoenix Super LPG’s 14-man lineup for the anticipated PBA season resumption in the bubble at Clark, Pampanga.
On Tuesday, the league rolled out the official rosters of all 12 ball clubs ahead of the compressed 2020 Philippine Cup that begins this Sunday.
Previously, the PBA had disallowed Abueva’s inclusion in the team’s 25-man delegation. It later reversed that decision after the Kapampangan cager met with league commissioner Willie Marcial and officials from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
Abueva has been with the Fuel Masters inside the bubble for a week now. He has begun taking part in the team’s practices.
However, the 32-year-old — who has been suspended for 15 months — will only be eligible to play upon completion of his requirements.
Abueva has to attend online seminars hosted by GAB as part of the conditions set by the body for the reinstatement of his pro license.
He has attended the first of reportedly a three-part session on the Code of Conduct of a Professional Player.
Aside from the online seminars, Abueva also has to undergo a mandatory drug test as part of the medical requirements.
If, and only if, Abueva regains his pro license and gets reinstated, then Phoenix’s Oct. 12 match against Meralco may be his first game back.
Abueva last played in the PBA back on June 2, 2019, when Phoenix faced TNT in Commissioner’s Cup action in Antipolo.
Here is the official roster for each team.
