NLEX gets Justin Chua, ships Kris Porter, two picks to Phoenix

NLEX has beefed up its frontline by adding one of the rising big men in the league.

The Road Warriors look to get Justin Chua from Phoenix Super LPG in exchange for Kris Porter and a couple of picks.

The picks are NLEX’s second round pick in the PBA Season 47 Draft and its first round pick in the Season 48 draft.

SPIN.ph’s Gerry Ramos first reported the development and confirmed to Tiebreaker Times by Fuel Masters team manager Paolo Bugia.

Chua has been having a resurgence for the past two seasons.

The 10th overall pick in the 2013 PBA Rookie Draft was 2020 Philippine Best Defensive Player and the runner-up in the Most Improved Player race.

The 6-foot-6 two-way big man out of Ateneo is averaging 5.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in eight games played so far in the Governors’ Cup.

Meanwhile, Porter, 27, stands at 6-foot-5 and is also a product of Ateneo.

He is averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in three games played.
