2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

Nine players attend GIlas practice

Exactly 40 days before the 2019 FIBA World Cup, Gilas Pilipinas 11th practice for the global meet saw dismal attendance.

Only nine players actively participated in the session headed by head coach Yeng Guiao.

Participating in the practice were Gabe Norwood, Mark Barroca, Paul Lee, Beau Belga, JP Erram, Matthew Wright, Kiefer Ravena, CJ Perez, and Andray Blatche.

June Mar Fajardo – who played last night during San Miguel’s quarterfinals game against NorthPort – was in street clothes.

Not present were Japeth Aguilar, Roger Pogoy, Raymond Almazan, Troy Rosario, Robert Bolick, Marcio Lassiter, Christian Standhardinger, and Stanley Pringle.

NBA pro Jordan Clarkson is also part of the 19-man pool submitted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas to the International Basketabll Federation.

Gilas are just three weeks away before flying to Spain for a pocket tournament.
