Nimes, Teng, Manalang power Pasig to fourth straight MPBL win

Pasig-Sta. Lucia rolled to its fourth-straight victory after hammering the also-ran Valenzuela-Carga Backload Solutions, 90-72, Friday in the 2019-20 Chooks-to-Go MPBL Lakan Season at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay.

Josan Nimes posted 28 points, six rebounds, three assists, and a steal as the Realtors upped their win-loss standings to 18-11.

Jeric Teng unloaded 21 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, while Robbie Manalang had 16 markers, six boards, and three dimes.

“Ang maganda, na-counter namin sila. ‘Yung runs nila, naibalik din namin kaagad by our own runs,” said Pasig head coach Bong Dela Cruz.

Trailing 14 entering the fourth period, Valenzuela opened the quarter with nine straight points to trim the deficit to five off a Jaycee Asuncion trey, 71-66.

But Pasig retaliated with 11 unanswered points, highlighted by back-to-back triples by Teng and Argel Mendoza to restore order with 3:52 on the clock, 82-66.

Ford Ruaya’s 15-point, 16-rebound performance could not stop Valenzuela from dropping to 11-18.
