On Tuesday, Nico Elorde wrote a new chapter of his life by marrying his long-time girlfriend Mich Del Carmen.
Elorde and Del Carmen — who have been together since their high school days in De La Salle-Zobel — tied the knot on the day of their 11th anniversary at the Shrine of St. Therese in Pasay City.
“Siyempre sobrang saya. Kahapon yung anniversary namin, eleven years — since high school pa kami. So yun, sobrang sarap ng feeling,” the 27-year-old Elorde gladly recalled.
But just a day later, Elorde was back in business. The diminutive floor general suited up for the NorthPort Batang Pier’s 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup meeting with the Columbian Dyip.
“Wala, trabaho din. Kailangan matulungan yung team, as much as kaya naman,” said the four-year pro.
Elorde played 12 minutes and had five points and three assists but unfortunately, the Batang Pier lost 108-114.
“Sayang, kinulang pa rin,” lamented the Ateneo product, as the loss was their second in a row.
Elorde could have opted to take a short break for a honeymoon, but he came in and played, as he and his wife have decided to have that time for themselves just after the season.
“Siyempre, dinelay na lang namin kasi alam namin na season na yung kasal,” he said.
“After conference na lang ang honeymoon, delayed lang.”
