NCAA denies Letran appeal on Yu

Fran Yu has played his final collegiate game.

After a meeting on Tuesday, the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Management Committee has denied the appeal of Colegio de San Juan de Letran regarding the one-game suspension of its senior floor general.

In a memo released by the league, it said the Letran did not present any “new evidence” to support their appeal.

Moreover, the Knights officials did not contest Yu’s ejection during the game held last Sunday.

Yu was assessed a disqualifying foul during Game Two of the Finals last Sunday after hitting Mark Sangco with an elbow to the head.

The incident took place at the 8:29 mark of the second quarter.

In his final game in a collegiate career that spanned seven years, Yu tallied six points and a steal.
