Myrtle Sarrosa was back on the hardcourt of the SMART-Araneta Coliseum on Sunday evening. This time around, though, she was not manning the sidelines as a courtside reporter. The 23-year-old host was part of the PBA Season 43 Opening Ceremony festivities as the muse of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
Sarrosa admitted that she did not hesitate to answer the call once she was invited to be part of the Ginebra delegation for the event. Moreover, the University of the Philippines alumna had grown up in a family full of Ginebra fans, making this moment much more special to her.
“Actually, pamilya ko huge Ginebra fans,” Sarrosa disclosed.
“So nung nalaman nila ako yung mag-mumuse, lahat sila full support and I’m glad first time kong mag-muse sa team pa na gustung-gusto ko.”
Though she has experience as a courtside reporter from back in the 91st and 92nd season of the NCAA, Sarrosa admitted that she was nervous during the parade of players. Good thing that she had a familiar face at her side in third-year pro Scottie Thompson.
“Una sa lahat sobrang grateful na ako pinili nila for this season to be their muse, Ginebra is the back-to-back Governors’ Cup champions so nung una kong nalaman medyo kinabahan ako napressure ako then nakilala ko na yung mga players, sobrang thankful ko,” she added.
“Masaya ako kasi ‘di ba unang courtside ako sa NCAA kasama ko si Scottie.
“I’m proud of Scottie. Last time kami nagkita, nag-rereport ako para sa Perpetual tapos ngayon magkasama na kami sa Ginebra,” Sarrosa beamed.
When asked if this was more nerve-wracking for her compared to her days in the NCAA, the actress did not hesitate with her response.
“Mas nakakakaba maging muse sa Ginebra!”
