NBL: Kai Sotto logs just eight minutes in Adelaide’s Blitz win over Tasmania

Kai Sotto saw just limited minutes in Adelaide’s 87-79 win over Tasmania in the 2022 NBL Blitz Preseason Tournament, Monday at Darwin Basketball Facility.

The 7-foot-3 Filipino only registered eight minutes in the 36ers’ win in the preseason meet, tallying two rebounds and committing two turnovers.

And it was the small ball lineup of coach CJ Bruton that did wonders for the 36ers in the contest.

Antonius Cleveland dazzled in the game, finishing with 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field, 4-of-7 from deep, to lead the way for Adelaide, who went up to 2-0 in the standings.

Craig Randall got 17 points and four rebounds while Mitch Mccarron tallied 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Sunday Dech also provided the firepower from the bench, producing 10 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Tasmania, who dropped to 1-1 in the standings, was led by the 16 points of Jack Mcveigh.

Sean Macdonald, Milton Doyle, and Rashard Kelly got 13, 12, and 11 points, respectively.

Adelaide will take on Illawara on September 22 before flying out to the US for a couple of games against NBA teams to close out their prep for the season.
