Nathzz bids temporary farewell to RSG Philippines

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Nathaniel “Nathzz” Estrologo announced on Tuesday afternoon that he will sit out the rest of MPL Philippines Season 14 due to personal reasons.

The decision comes as a surprise to many fans, as Nathzz has been a crucial part of RSG Philippines.

In a video posted on RSG Philippines’ social media accounts, Nathzz addressed his fans: “Hello Raiders, I am Nathzz, EXP Laner from RSG. I would like to say that this might be my last journey for now in RSG because of personal reasons.

‘I hope to see you guys soon. This is not a goodbye, just see you later,” he said.

Nathzz began his professional career with RSG Philippines in MPL Season 8, where the team finished 5th-6th after a first-round playoff exit to Nexplay EVOS.

Despite a rocky start, Nathzz and RSG rebounded in Season 9, securing their first MPL Philippines championship and MSC title.

Nathzz was hailed as the Playoffs MVP that season, cementing his reputation as one of the greatest players in the EXP lane.

However, after their Cinderella run in Season 9, RSG Philippines finished in 3rd-4th place from Seasons 10 to 12.

Despite these back-to-back finishes as second runners-up, the team claimed their second international title at the MPL Invitational 2023. There, they bested ECHO (now Team Liquid) in four games, winning 3-1 in a best-of-five grand finals format.

Last Season 13, RSG Philippines faced challenges once again, ultimately finishing 3rd in the final standings.

With Nathzz’s departure, the team will need to adjust quickly. Stepping up to fill Nathzz’s role for the remainder of MPL Philippines Season 14 is Zeke “BAI LUCI” Himaya.
