Nash Racela close to signing with Blackwater

Contrary to Tiebreaker Times’ earlier report that he would handle the De La Salle Green Archers program, Nash Racela is making his way back to the PBA as he will be the head coach of Blackwater.

Elite team owner Dioceldo Sy confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times. It was first reported by Spin.ph Monday.

This will be Racela’s second coaching gig in the pros. He served as the head think-tank of the TNT KaTropa back in 2017, before taking a leave of absence in the 2018 Governors’ Cup.

Racela has also been active in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. He was recently with the Iloilo Royals, where he serves as an assistant coach to his good friend Eric Gonzales.

Racela will be taking over interim coach Aris Dimaunahan, who will be his lead assistant. He will be inheriting a team that has shipped Mike DiGregorio, Allein Maliksi, Raymar Jose, and Ray Parks.

Racela will reunite with his former players in Far Eastern University players Mac Belo, Carl Cruz, and Mike Tolomia.
