The Negrenses surged to a quick 2-0 lead in the match before surrendering the next two to Sabong International.

“Nangyari kasi parang nag low morale kami nung natalo kami nung fourth set e,” said Negros head coach Ralph Savellano, who is also celebrating his birthday today.

MRT Negros then climbed back from three points down in the final set before Christian Marcelino converted back-to-back attacks to put the team at match-point, 14-12.

Jet Nonoy then completed the win with a hit in the ensuing play.

“Ang sinabi ko sa kanila it’s all about will to win at attitude kaya pinush ko sila nang pinush [tapos] bumalik yung intensity nila,” said Savellano.

Matthew Salarzon scattered 11 attacks, five blocks, and two aces for a game-high 18 points in the win.
