MPL PH: Vintage Light helps RSG regain winning ways with sweep of TNC

Dylan “Light” Catipon provided superb set-up plays all season long to lead RSG Slate Philippines to a dominant 2-0 sweep of winless TNC Pro Team in Week 2 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 on Saturday.

It was their second season win after suffering from a 2-0 loss against Smart Omega on Friday. They now have six points to tie Bren Esports in second.

RSG head coach Brian “Panda” Lim was all praises for his prized roamer who delivered a solid performance in recovering from yesterday’s loss.

“Typical Light gameplay talaga, just like how he played sa Season 9 and Season 10. If you let light roam alone tapos make plays then definitely the enemy formation and opposite rotation will be sira,” he said.

RSG opened the series with a bang after Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo (Benedetta) scored a triple kill during the 2nd minute turtle fight on the way to leading a 4-1 skirmish.

With Dylan “Light” Catipon (Franco) leading the way with his pinpoint Iron Hooks, RSG easily notched an opening win highlighted by Eman “EMANN” Sangco’s (Beatrix) double kill in the 14th minute lord fight to force a 5-0 wipeout, 1-0.

Light took the match MVP honors with a 1-2-14 KDA.

It looked like RSG was on the way for a sweep after taking down all enemy inhibitor turrets late in the 15th minute but the Phoenix army punished their overaggressiveness for a 3-1 exchange and securing the enhanced lord.

The Raiders though averted a collapse after Light (Chou) found Robee Bryan “Ninjakilla” Pormocille (Beatrix) from the backline early in the 18th minute leading to a pick off that sparked a 4-1 wipe to complete the sweep.
