Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol’s Lord steal in Game Three lifted ONIC PH past Blacklist International, 2-1, in the MPL Philippines Season Nine on Friday night.
In a play to distract Blacklist International in the all-important Game Three, Mark “Markyyyyy” Capacio’s Lunox went deep down the top lane with Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales to lure ONIC PH out of the Lord pit.
Markyyyyy eventually fell, but ONIC PH managed to take down the Luminous Lord and take out Salic “Hadji” Imam’s Lylia. ONIC PH, however, still failed to end the game after five sieges.
Blacklist International scored a crucial kill on Baloyskie in the 28:48-mark, giving Blacklist International an opening for a Luminous Lord take.
Kairi (Ling) then stole the objective through his Retribution while also eliminating OHEB to end the match. He finished with five kills and four assists without a single death in the 15-9 Game Three win.
The MPL Philippines Season Eight grand finalist, who moved up to 5-3, tied RSG PH at the third spot with 13 points each.
OHEB’s Kimmy won a crucial clash for Blacklist International in Game One, taking a five-for-three trade to claim the first Lord of the game and hand the team a 1.3K gold advantage entering the 12th minute.
Crucial kills on Gerald “Dlarskie” Trinchera (Uranus), Baloyskie (Franco), and Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales (Lunox) almost ended things up, but a crucial save by Kairi’s Ling helped ONIC PH stay alive and eventually, take the Luminous Lord in the 13:55-mark.
ONIC PH bagged the next Luminous Lord in the 17:03-mark. A crucial Iron Hook by Baloyskie on OHEB capped off ONIC PH’s comeback win.
Kairi led the win with five kills and seven assists against just two deaths in the 15-17 come-from-behind Game One win in 18 minutes and 36 seconds.
Blacklist International’s superb objective-taking outing in Game Two allowed them to tie the series at 1-all.
With eight turrets, three Cryoturtles, and two Lords under their belt, the reigning back-to-back champions breezed through the win despite surrendering early kills on Kent “Kevier” Lopez’s Ling.
Dexter “DEX STAR” Alaba’s Jawhead played a pivotal role in the Game Two win, finishing with three kills and seven assists against one death in the 11-7 victory in 16 minutes and 10 seconds.
The Tier One-backed squad dropped to a 1-7 standing with eight points to claim the solo sixth spot.
