MPL PH bans Diggie for Season 11 playoffs

A surprising development unfolded minutes before the start of the MPL Philippines Season 11 playoffs when the League Operations announced a ban on Diggie for the whole post-season.

According to Moonton, there’s an existing bug on the hero that, when abused, may result in unfair play.

“We’ve observed a bug related to Diggie’s lock settings and egg mechanic. With this, Diggie will be banned from tournament use for one week starting today,” said Keith Niño Medrano, MOONTON Games regional PR manager.

“The teams have been informed ahead of the games.”

The ban will heavily impact the playoffs since Diggie is considered the best counter against crowd-control roamers like Khufra and Atlas.

One of the teams that will be affected is Blacklist International, with skipper Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna known for his impeccable prowess on the Diggie pick.

During the M4 World Championship, Diggie was the main counter of Blacklist for Echo’s signature Chou, helping them conquer their rivals in the upper bracket finals.

At press time, Blacklist is facing Smart Omega in a do-or-die match for a place in the upper bracket semifinals.
