MPL Clasico to open Season 8 as ONIC-Echo square off

The ONIC PH-ECHO rivalry is set to write a new chapter as they open the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight festivities this Friday, August 27.

MPL Philippines was supposed to raise its curtains last August 13 but the Enhanced Community Quarantine implemented in Metro Manila forced Moonton to postpone the opening. The ECQ ran from August 6 to 20.

But with NCR being under MECQ starting Saturday, the league has decided to push through.

And the league will open with a bang.

The ONIC PH-ECHO bout will be at 6:00 PM.

Meanwhile, defending champions Blacklist International will also make its debut against TNC at 8:00 PM.

Fridays will only be a double-header while there will be three games held every Saturdays and Sundays.

On day 2, the new-look SMART Omega will face ONIC at 4:00PM followed by Echo vs BREN at 6:00PM. Capping the night is Nexplay-Evos taking on Blacklist.

To cap off opening weekend, Bren will welcome RSG to the league at 4:00PM followed by Nexplay-Evos versus TNC and Omega versus Echo.

The elimination round is expected to run until October 10.
