In his first-ever pro meeting with good pal Christian Palma, Kyt Jimenez made sure to make it special.
Jimenez finished with a quadruple-double, powering Sarangani to a 125-74 win over Mindoro in the 2022 OKbet-MPBL 4th Season, Monday at the Paco Arena.
The former University of Perpetual Help System DALTA standout finished the game with a line of 33 points built on eight treys to go with 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and 11 steals.
This is the first quadruple-double tallied in a pro game in the country since Donbel Belano got 17 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and 10 steals during Davao’s win over Nueva Ecija in the 1999 MBA season.
Jimenez already notched a double-double with 7:09 remaining after grabbing his 10th rebound in the game. It turned into a triple-double after netting his 10th steal with 3:59 left.
Three seconds after tallying his 10th steal, Jimenez was able to find Jordan Sta. Ana on the break to reach the historic feat.
The game itself was already a one-sided affair at the half with the Marlins leading 69-43.
The Tamaraws never got close from that point on as Jimenez put on a show.
Sarangani, who went up to 15-5 in the standings to remain at fourth, also saw Paul Sanga score 25 points on seven treys. Danny Marilao tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Meanwhile, Donald Gumaru and Jordan Sta. Ana scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, Khen Osicos led Mindoro with 28 points and 10 rebounds.
Mindoro finished their campaign with a 1-20 slate.
