A somber cloud descended upon the Philippine mixed martial arts community on Monday morning, July 15, as news spread of the untimely passing of Anacleto “LA” Lauron.
Tiebreaker Times was able to get confirmation through his close circle. He was 32 years old.
Details surrounding his untimely demise remain undisclosed as his family and loved ones request privacy during this period of mourning.
Lauron first gained mainstream attention in 2022 when he participated in the ONE Warrior Series Philippines reality series, emerging as one of the standout contestants among the sixteen hopefuls.
Despite reaching the Final Eight, his promising journey was cut short due to an injury to his right arm.
Lauron may have missed out on the chance to vie for a six-figure deal with ONE Championship, but he seized a monumental opportunity to compete on the organization’s main roster in December 2022.
There, he stepped in on short notice to replace an injured Matias Farinelli, facing off against Filipino compatriot Jhanlo Sangiao.
Unfortunately for “LA,” the bantamweight MMA bout ended in a first-round submission loss.
While his time with the Singapore-based promotion concluded quietly last year, he continued to pursue his passion for the sport.
Lauron was last seen in action when he competed under the Angel’s Fighting Championship banner this past February, bowing to Felipe Negochadle by technical knockout in the first round.
Beyond MMA, Lauron also ventured into kickboxing, competing for the upstart TNT organization in November 2023. In that match-up, he outpointed fellow mixed martial artist Richard Lachica by unanimous decision.
