Minana promotes Yellyhaze to coach

Minana Evos, which has taken over Nexplay Evos’ position in the MPL Philippines, is set to field a 10-man roster for the upcoming season, maintaining an almost intact core from Season 11.

The team will continue to be led by their captain, Christian “GoyongAR” Martinez, accompanied by Bien “BoyetAR” Chumecera, Jan “DomengAR” Delmundo, and Borris “BruskoAR” Parro.

Lance Aron “LansuAR” Misa, previously active in the PBA Esports Bakbakan under Ginebra, will step in to replace the experienced laner Danver “DingDR” Canja in the starting lineup, as the latter will take a break during Season 12.

Completing the Minana roster are members of the Nexplay Tiger Cubs, spearheaded by Lance Walter “LaceCyAR” Cunanan, Brian Miles “Spider-MilezAR” Santos, Jhon Marl “Lord JMAR” Sebastian, Ken Louie “KzenAR” Pile, and Oscar “SumpakAR” Romero Jr.

In the previous Season 11, the rookie-heavy squad began their debut season with a balanced 2-2 win-loss record but faced challenges with a 1-8 streak in the mid-season.

Nonetheless, they concluded the season on a positive note with an impressive 2-1 victory over the then-defending champions, Blacklist International. This performance narrowly kept them from securing the last playoff spot, resulting in a 7th overall position.

Meanwhile, Jeniel “YellyHazeAR” Bata-Anon will not be participating in the MPL Philippines for the first time since Season 1, as he has embraced a coaching role at Minana for Season 12.

He will join head coach Jason “IsonAR” Casidsid on the sidelines, along with Christian “BitoyAR” Casten and former MPL PH player Douglas “ImbaDeejayAR” Astibe.
