Mikey Williams finally graced the PBA again on Friday night.
The two-time league champion is at the Philsports Arena in Pasig to watch his former team TNT take on Ginebra in a Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup affair.
Sitting at courtside, it marked his first appearance in the league since Game 6 of the Season 47 Governors’ Cup Finals back in April of 2023.
There, he helped the Tropang Giga oust the Kings from their two-year reign with solid averages of 22.0 points, 3.33 rebounds, and 3.17 assists.
He would go on to earn PBA Press Corps Finals MVP honors, the second of his career after winning the first in their 2021 Philippine Cup conquest.
Williams no longer returned to the flagship MVP Group franchise after Season 47 as he and his mother team couldn’t agree on a new deal.
Still, his rights are still held by TNT.
Picked no. 4 in the 2021 Draft, the 33-year-old is in the country to reinforce Strong Group in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship.
A PBA return, though, remains a big question mark.
