Mike Nieto inks fresh two-year deal with Converge

Mike Nieto has definitely found a home in Converge.

Despite having six more months in his current contract, the 6-foot-2 guard out of Ateneo de Manila University signed on for an additional two years with the FiberXers.

The signing took place at Gatorade Hoops Center with team manager Jacob Lao, assistant team manager CK Kanapi-Daniolco, head coach Aldin Ayo, and agent PJ Pilares of Titan Sports Management also there.

“I am grateful and blessed for the trust given to me every day. I am thankful to Boss Jacob, Tito Frank (Lao), Boss Dennis (Uy), Gov Delta (Pineda), Archen (Cayabyab), Coach Aldin, Mam CK, and the entire coaching staff and management for giving me this opportunity to represent Converge in the PBA,” expressed Nieto.

Nieto, 26, was traded to Converge from Rain or Shine in exchange for two future draft picks last May.

Ayo has never hidden his delight in having a high-IQ player like Nieto on his team.

For Nieto, it’s this trust that he has built with Ayo that is motivating him heading into the 48th season of the league.

“I will strive to be the best player in my role and do everything I can to help the team achieve our goal of winning a championship.”
