After losing Grethcel Soltones to Akari, Petro Gazz has signed Michelle Morente for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League season, the team announced on Thursday evening.
Morente, who had an impressive campaign with PLDT, fell out of head coach Rald Ricafort’s rotation in the season-ending Second All-Filipino Conference due to the arrival of Fil-Canadian hitter Savannah Davison and the emergence of Erika Santos.
“Your high-octane energy will surely drive us to our desired destination! We’re glad to have an Angel named Momo! Welcome, Mich Morente,” said Petro Gazz in a Facebook post.
The former La Salle standout will join an Angels side that is still reeling from the loss of star outside spiker Soltones, who decided to join the Chargers following a three-season stint with Petro Gazz.
Other key pick ups for the Angels are Joy Dacoron and Ethan Arce.
Petro Gazz is coming off a disappointing campaign in the Second All-Filipino Conference where they missed the semifinals and finished in sixth place via a 6-5 card.
