The MVP Group is going all out with the imports their three teams tapped for the upcoming 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Meralco has gotten the commitment of Shabazz Muhammad, the 14th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
Muhammad, who stands at 6-foot-6, played for Minnesota in his first five years in the big league before playing for Milwaukee in 2018.
The now-28 year old would also play for Shanxi and Shenzhen in the CBA.
NLEX also got a former NBA player in former TNT import KJ McDaniels.
McDaniels averaged 35.06 points, 13.47 rebounds, 4.41 assists, 3.41 blocks, and 1.35 steals per game during the 2019 Governors’ Cup for the Tropang Giga.
After his stint with TNT, the 6-foot-6 high-flyer from Birmingham, Alabama played for G League team Greensboro from 2020-21 before signing with P-LEAGUE+ team Formosa earlier this year.
Finally, TNT has an import who has already worked well with 2021 PBA Philippine Cup Finals MVP Mikey Williams, as it got McKenzie Moore.
Moore played for Mighty Sports in the 2019 Jones Cup and for TNT in the Terrific 12.
The former NBL-Australia MVP has played in New Zealand, Belgium, Greece, Russia, Turkey, Poland, and Israel as well.
Temple University standout Jaylen Bond, meanwhile, signed Blackwater.
Bond, 28, previously played for Al Nasr in the UAE league and Al-Muharraq in Bahrain.
