Melmac Sports officially unveiled its FIFA-standard football field at Villar City in Dasmariñas, Cavite, on Saturday, September 27, adding a new venue for the development of football and other sporting activities in the area.
The facility occupies 3.5 hectares and is designed to accommodate football programs, sporting events, community activities, and future developments catering to athletes, families, and sports enthusiasts.
All Star Properties, Inc. President and CEO Mel Macasaquit led the opening ceremony alongside Melmac Sports partners and former Philippine national team players Misagh Bahadoran and Simon Greatwich.
Villar Land Holdings Chairman Manny Villar was also present, joined by Chief Operating Officer Mary Lee Sardiasa, Division Head Engineer Allan Santos, members of the Villar City team, and other guests and partners.
For Macasaquit, the new football facility carries a deeper significance given the role the sport has played in the development of Melmac Sports.
“While people may see a lot of basketball in our portfolio, football has always been the foundation of Melmac Sports. It was through this beautiful game that our deeper involvement in sports began,” Macasaquit said.
“My partners, Misagh and Simon, both dedicated their careers to representing the Philippine national team, and for all of us, this has always been driven by our genuine love for the game.”

Macasaquit hopes the new venue can help provide a pathway for young footballers looking to improve their game and eventually represent the country.
“We hope this new facility gives young players a place to develop their skills, build their confidence, chase their dreams, and hopefully become the next generation of Philippine football players,” he said.
The project was made possible through Melmac Sports’ partnership with the Villar Group, a collaboration Macasaquit said required significant time and effort to bring to completion.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the Villar Group for welcoming Melmac Sports to Villar City,” he said. “This was not easy. It took a tremendous amount of work, time, and commitment from everyone involved. We even turned Misagh into a construction worker just to make sure we got this done.”
Macasaquit also highlighted Greatwich’s long-standing work in youth football through G8 Academy.
“Simon literally dedicated his life to teaching kids football through G8 Academy. Today, it finally has a home. And for me, that makes everything we went through worth it,” he said.
The football field’s opening was held alongside the launch of Planet Melmac at Villar City, bringing the Singapore-originated fried chicken brand to another location under the Melmac Sports umbrella.
The new facility also strengthens Melmac Sports’ presence in Cavite, where it already operates a 3,500-square-meter multi-sport complex at Vista Mall Imus.
The Imus facility offers pickleball courts, 3×3 and 5-on-5 basketball courts, a sport-specific gym, and other recreational spaces.
With its new football facility and Planet Melmac outlet, Melmac Sports and Villar City are positioning the development as a destination that combines sports, recreation, and dining for athletes, families, and the broader community.
