Melindo, Sakkreerin Jr. make weight for Pinoy Pride 39

The IBF World Light Flyweight title clash is now official as Milan “El Metodico” Melindo and Fahlan Sakkreerin, Jr. made weight.

All systems go for tomorrow’s title fight for the Interim IBF World Light Flyweight belt pitting Milan Melindo (34-2) and Thailand’s Fahlan Sakkreerin, Jr. (31-4-1) as all the fighters stepped onto the scales earlier today at the Robinson’s Place Fuente in downtown Cebu.

Gunning for his first world title in three attempts, the number six-ranked Melindo came in exactly at the 108-pound limi while his opponent Sakkreerin checked-in at 107.6 pounds.

In the feature bouts, the Pagara brothers had no problems in making weight for their respective fights. “Prince” Albert Pagara (26-1) came in at exactly 126-pounds in his fight opposite Raymond Commey (16-3) of Ghana weighed lighter at 122.2.

Jason Pagara (39-2), meanwhile, had no problems getting the required limit for his welterweight bout. He and opponent Jose Alfaro (28-10-1) of Nicaragua logged in a few shades below the 147 limit at 146.4 and 146.6 respectively for their 10-round fight.

Meanwhile, Fabio Marfa (25-3-4) will be penalized for missing his scheduled limit for his flyweight bout opposite Melvin Jerusalem (10-0). He stepped in the scales over at 115.4. Jerusalem, on the other hand, weighed in at 111.

Jerry Nardo (21-9) did not make it to the official weigh-ins due to Typhoon Marce. However, his fight with Jimmy Paypa (18-3-1) will still go on as he was able to notch the required weight when the Games and Amusement Board office in Bacolod City scaled him.
