Mark Barroca bags second Finals MVP honors


With his veteran smarts on full display, boosting the the Magnolia Hotshots versus the Alaska Aces, Mark Barroca was adjudged the Honda Philippines Most Valuable Player of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.

The seven-year pro was a big factor in the Hotshots’ Game Six closer of the Aces on Wednesday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. He dropped 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the 35 minutes he played.

Barrroca averaged 11.0 points, 3.2 boards, 3.2 dimes, and 1.8 steals in the series. This is his second Finals MVP plum; he won his first award back in the 2014 Philippine Cup Finals versus the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

The product of Far Eastern University and the Hotshots have won their first title in four years.
