It’s the young guns’ turn to take center stage once again Mark Magsayo leads ALA Boxing Promotion’s 41st card on Saturday, July 8 at the IEC Convention Center in Cebu City.
Headlining his second card in two years, 22-year-old Magsayo (16-0, 12 KOs) will defend his WBO International Featherweight crown against Daniel Diaz (23-7-2, 15 KOs) of Nicaragua.
Joining “Magnifico” are stablemates Jeo Santisima, Melvin Jerusalem, and Albert Pagara.
Coming of his 11th straight victory three months ago, 21-year-old Santisima (13-2, 11 KOs) looks to continue his winning run. He will be facing undefeated Tanzanian Goodluck Mrema (16-0) in the co-main event.
While 23-year-old Albert Pagara (27-1, 18 KOs) is set to face Thai veteran Aekkawee Kaewmanee (16-9, 6 KOs).
Also in the undercard is a much anticipated fight between two highly-touted minimumweights.
Former world title challenger Melvin Jerusalem (11-1, 7KOs), 23, will try to bounce back from his loss to WBC World Minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin last January as he takes on Joey Canoy (12-3-1, 6KOs) of the famed Rex Wakee Salud Boxing Stable.
