Jerrick Balanza’s reunion with Aldin Ayo has come to an unexpected end after just 15 months.
The seasoned forward has bid farewell to Converge, his team of barely over a year, as he embarks on a new chapter with Magnolia.
Balanza’s departure from Converge was sealed with a trade to Magnolia in exchange for a 2024 PBA Draft second-round pick, a transaction finalized on Thursday.
This trade marks the end of Balanza’s brief stint with Converge.
The former Letran Knight expressed his gratitude to Converge earlier in the day as he bid farewell to the team that had become his home over the past year.
Balanza’s journey with Converge began in January 2023 when he was traded from the Northport Batang Pier to the FiberXers in a one-on-one exchange for Allyn Bulanadi.
However, his time with Converge has been relatively short-lived, with Balanza featuring in only six games during the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup.
Despite his limited playing time, Balanza showcased glimpses of his talent, averaging 2.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
