Magis Eagle Jacob Lacson stays close to home, commits to Ateneo

Another Magis Eagle is turning Blue.

Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu big man Jacob Lacson has committed to head to Manila to study and play for Ateneo de Manila University.

Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin personally visited Cebu to secure Lacson’s commitment.

Lacson, who stands at 6-foot-7, was instrumental in the Magis Eagles’ quest for a five-straight crown in the CESAFI, averaging 5.75 points, 8.08 rebounds, 1.17 blocks, and 1.08 assists per game.

“I just feel very grateful and blessed to be given this opportunity to play at a higher level,” said Lacson, who was accompanied by his parents, Stephen and Joli, and his godfather, Lery Chik.

“I’m very excited to start practicing and playing with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.”

But more than learning under Baldwin, Lacson said he chose Ateneo for its academics.

Lacson, who will graduate with honors, will take up BS Biology as he aspires to become a doctor.

He joins Jared Bahay, Raffy Celis, Jelo Rota, Alden Cainglet, and Lars Fjellvang as Sacred Heart products who have committed to Ateneo.
