M4: Blacklist International catches last ride bus to upper bracket

After two consecutive losses, Blacklist International rallied back to salvage its upper bracket spot at the expense of Incendio Supremacy, 1-0, in the round robin tiebreaker of the M4 World Championship, Tuesday at the Bali United Studio in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The reigning world champion was already a win away from securing a spot in the upper bracket back in the group stage but suffered a shocking loss to Falcon Esports which forced a three-way tie in Group A.

Blacklist International then lost to Falcon Esports anew, this time in the tiebreaker match which put its upper bracket hopes in peril. Luckily for the top Pinoy squad, they were able to repeat over Incendio Supremacy to clinch the number two seed in the group.

Kiel “OHEB” Soriano starred in the win with eight kills, two deaths, and six assists on Wanwan in the tight 19-16 win in 21 minutes while Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna recorded a game-high 13 assists, a kill, and three deaths on Lolita.

Blacklist International will go up against the top-ranked team of Group D in the upper bracket playoffs, which will begin on January 7, Saturday.
