Light says RSG PH will fight for Omega in MSC Finals

KUALA LUMPUR — Dylan “Light” Catipon said that RSG PH is dedicating their grand finals match against RRQ Hoshi to their brothers over at Omega Esports, Saturday night.

After losing to RRQ Hoshi in the upper bracket finals, the defending MPL Philippines champions were relegated to the lower bracket finals. There, they faced fellow Filipino squad Omega Esports in a thrilling five-game series that saw them come out on top.

Right after the match, RSG PH PH immediately went to Omega Esports’ corner to console them.

Light said that he saw in Omega Esports’ eyes that they really wanted to defend their title, which they won last year back when they were still carrying the Execration banner. That is why the RSG PH roamer is dedicating the rest of its campaign to Omega Esports.

“Cino-comfort namin siya and sinabi rin namin na babawian namin yung RRQ para sa kanila,” said Light after RSG PH’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Omega Esports.

“Sinabi namin na ang ganda nung laban, good game. Sobrang solid nung pinakita nila, nagso-sorry din kami kasi ‘di kami [nanalo] sa upper bracket finals so yun, gusto talaga naming maulit yung PH to PH grand finals kasi parang sobrang gawing rematch nun [dito],” he added.

The former TNC standout also admitted that they had a very tough time against Omega Esports. For him, it’s the decisions that they made in Game Five that helped them clinch the last ticket to the MSC finals.

“It’s gonna boost us [Omega’s elimination], absolutely. Because we may be enemies in the battlefield but in real life, we’re truly friends. We support each other.

“The fight between Omega… It’s a tough match. They can also win, but we just got lucky and we made good decisions in the last game,” said Light.
