Leo Austria keeps mum on Terrence Romeo trade as San Miguel offers 2 role players, 2 picks

For over a week, Terrence Romeo’s name has been thrown around the trading block. And one unlikely team that might be leading the chase is the already-potent San Miguel Beermen.

According to multiple sources closely monitoring the development, the defending Philippine Cup champions will send David Semerad, Brian Heruela, and their first round picks in the 2019 and 2021 Rookie Draft for the three-time scoring champion.

However, decorated champion mentor Leo Austria still does not know if the trade is pushing through or not.

“Mabuti kayo, nauna pa kayo sa balita. Wala akong comment regarding that hangga’t hindi pa na-finalize yung mga naririnig niyo. Nauna pa kayo!” the three-time Coach of the Year quipped.

“Let’s see what will happen in the next few days. As of now, wala akong maco-comment about that.”

Already with a lineup that features the likes of June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos, Alex Cabagnot, Marcio Lassiter, Chris Ross, and Christian Standhardinger, Romeo will still be a welcome addition, shared the amiable tactician. Moreover, he added that a player with Romeo’s caliber will be an asset to any team.

“As a player, unahin natin yung magagandang traits niya. Alam naman natin si Terrence. Nung naglalaro siya sa Gilas, he is one of the most admired players. Lahat naman, puwede magbago eh. With his talent, hindi naman mawawala yun. Any team naman mangangailangan ng talent niya,” he gushed.

“Kung mapupunta sa amin yun, I don’t know yet. Hindi pa namin alam yung nangyayari. Pagka nandun na, mauunahan niyo pa rin ako. Kahit sino naman dumating, welcome naman. Makikita niyo naman kung para sa amin o hindi.”
