Kymani Ladi’s next journey will take him to Caloocan.
The 6-foot-8 Filipino-American has signed with the Batang Kankaloo for the 2026 MPBL Season.
Several of the league’s top teams courted the sweet-shooting forward, but what ultimately drew him to Caloocan was the opportunity to reunite with two familiar faces — his former Ateneo teammate Dom Escobar and former UAAP rival from La Salle, Kean Baclaan.
“It feels good to be back to where I really grew as a player and really excited to play with familiar faces like Dom and Kean,” Ladi told Tiebreaker Times.
Ladi shares that excitement. “Both Dom and Kean are walking highlights. With me as an addition, we can have some fun on the court,” he said.
During his one-year stint at Ateneo, Ladi impressed, averaging 14.29 points, 7.07 rebounds, and 1.43 assists per game.
Now, he’s preparing for the next level — whether that’s overseas or in the PBA.
“My personal goal is just to keep getting better every day. I want to elevate my game and really play and think like a guard — making smart reads, being poised, and impacting the game on both ends,” he added.
He’s also eager to learn from Eric Camson, a former PBA player who now serves as Caloocan’s captain.
“As for team goals, it’s all about wins and soaking up as much experience as I can. Just learning, competing, and doing whatever it takes to help the team succeed,” Ladi said.
