Korea adds 12 more players to FIBA Asia Cup third window pool

With the delay of the third window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, the Korean Basketball Association and its stakeholders have decided to further beef up its lineup.

According to a report by My Daily, Korea has added 12 more players to its pool, headlined by Goyang Orion’s Lee Daesung.

Lee, 30, played in the 2019 FIBA World Cup, averaging 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Joining him are dead shots Jeon Seonghyun of Anyang KGC and Doo Kyungmin of Wonju DB.

Also added to the pool are Yang Hongseok of Busan KT, Choi Seongwon of Seoul SK, Jung Hyogeun of Elephant ET, Song Kyochang of Jeonju KCC, Kim Junil of Seoul Samsung, Choi Jinsuu of Hyundai Mobius, Park Jeonghyun of Changwon LG, Lee Daeheon of Incheon ET, and another student-athlete in Lee Hyunjung of Davidson University.

They join the already formidable 12 of Ra Gun-ah (Ricardo Ratliffe), Kim Jongkyu, Kang Sangjae, Lee Seunghyun, Yeo Junseok, Jeon Junbeom, An Youngjun, Lee Kwanhee, Byeon Junhyeong, Kim Nakhyeon, Heo Hoon, and Kim Sirae.

FIBA Asia has yet to announce a new host for the final window.

Korea, who despite having a 2-0 record in Group A sits at last place with two points, faces the Philippines twice, Indonesia once, and Thailand once in the third window.
