Kobe Paras and Thirdy Ravena were only supposed to grace the Manok ng Bayan-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas 3×3 event at Sisters of Mary Boystown in Minglanilla as guests speakers.
But seeing the infectious energy of these young kids in their attempt to set a new world record for most young ballers simultaneously playing 3×3 basketball, the duo couldn’t help but join in the fun.
With the weather cooperating for the two-day event, Paras and Ravena got on their running shoes and mixed it up to the delight of the Alloysians in a surprise 3×3 game during the game break on Saturday.
SMS-Boystown also brought their best to the fray as the team of Michael Carin, CJ Gonzales, Emilio Badiana, and Renzo Gantala, the Cebuano champions of the 2018 SBP U-16 3×3 Pambansang Tatluhan, had the honor to share the court with Paras and Ravena.
And just like what these Alloysians did last September when they upset heavily-favored SHS-Ateneo de Cebu in the regional finals, all four strut their stuff in the halfcourt to the delight of their peers.
The warm enthusiasm could only bring smiles to Paras and Ravena’s faces.
“We couldn’t help but also join in the fun with these history-makers,” said Paras.
“It was a treat to play with these kids and I’m happy to be with them in such a historic day like this,” Ravena added.
