Kiefer Ravena and Shiga could not overcome another B.League giant in Shimane.
The Lakestars once again faltered late, suffering a 94-102 loss to the Susanoo Magic in the 2021-22 B.League season, Wednesday at the Ukaruchan Arena.
And it was Ravena’s good pal Seiya Ando who provided the big plays for Susanoo Magic down the stretch.
A couple of free throws by Ravena with 3:06 left kept the Lakestars within striking range, 94-90. That’s when Ando decided to take over, knocking down back-to-back triples to quell the Lakestars’ rally.
Shiga could not muster any rally afterward as it dropped to an even 6-6 slate in the west.
Ravena had 14 points, six assists, two steals, and two rebounds. But Ando was just spectacular, tallying 17 points, 12 assists, and three steals.
Reid Travis led Shimane — who went up to 9-3 in the standings — with 35 points and 18 rebounds.
Ryo Abe added 15 points on three treys while Nick Kay scattered 14 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.
Soko paced the Lakestars with 20 points and 14 rebounds while Novar Gadson bounced back from a horrid weekend against Chiba with 16 points.
