Kiefer Ravena returned to the Philippines with baggage
23-year-old Kiefer Ravena, who has been travelling back and forth the country since graduating from Ateneo back in 2015, is currently embroiled in an alleged photo scandal being spread across various social media platforms.
Though the young upstart has remained mum about the situation, he is not letting it get into his head.
“[I’m just] trying to focus on the task at hand and that is trying to get the championship back to the Philippines for the ABL,” Ravena said on Wednesday morning during Alab’s practice — his first with the team.
“Siguro nga, nasanay ka na lang din na palaging may ganoon. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but it is what it is.”
During his senior year with the Blue Eagles, Ateneo faced numerous off-court distractions all throughout the season. And just like he had with his teammates, the two-time UAAP MVP is now finding solace among his friends throughout this ordeal.
“Tinutulungan ako ng mga kaibigan ko to fine-tune everything,” Ravena revealed.
“Everything will be okay in the end.”
To help Ravena focus on the task at hand, his camp has sought the help of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime group to catch one of the alleged suspects.
“We’ve been silent the past couple of weeks because my parents have been consulting with law enforcement to get to the bottom of this matter,” Ravena added in a separate statement.
“Now that we have the first suspect under the PNP’s custody, we hope to get more leads and information so justice will be served, and harassment and blackmailing such as this would end.”
Though many questions still linger, at least Ravena can now focus on his stint with Alab Pilipinas and help bring back the ABL crown to the Philippines.
