The full might of F2 Logistics has finally been unleashed.
With Kalei Mau and Iris Tolenada leading the way, the Cargo Movers swept the Angels, 25-16, 25-23, 25-14, in their first-ever meeting that took place in the 2021 Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League, Monday at the Aquamarine Recreational Center in Lipa, Batangas.
Mau was the star of stars in this dream matchup, dropping 21 points. Not far behind was Tolenada, who tossed 22 excellent sets to go with four points.
“For me individually I can’t say I did a good job. It was my teammates,” Mau said. “Iris and I have been working pretty hard on our connection during our training. I’m really proud of her. Without her, I couldn’t make those points.”
After close first two sets, the Angels flamed out in the third set. And decorated head coach Ramil de Jesus noticed it, lauding his players for continuing its momentum despite the tough conditions inside the gym.
“Alam namin na pagod na sila,” said De Jesus. “Nung unang set, maganda pa nilalaro nila pero nung bandang dulo na napagod.”
Aby Maraño and Kim Dy each had nine points, while Ara Galang and Majoy Baron added six points for F2 Logistics, who went up to 3-0 with nine points to lead the way in the six-team cast.
Petro Gazz dropped to fourth with a 2-1 slate and five points.
Ria Meneses was the lone bright spot for the Angels with 11 points and two blocks.
F2 Logistics will face Perlas tomorrow at 4:00 PM. Meanwhile, Petro Gazz will have a day break before taking on California Precision Sports on Wednesday.
