Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol’s insane Selena performance in Game Three powered ONIC PH’s 2-1 reverse sweep of archrival Aura PH to snap its three-game losing streak in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven regular season, Friday night.
The jungler-turned-support, who hit insane Abyssal Arrows all game long, registered a game-high 10 kills and eight assists without a death to nab the SMART MVP plum in the 22-8 Game Three win.
With Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales’ Hayabusa struggling in the early goings of the deciding match, Kairi took charge in the early game with his Abyssal Arrows and provided Hate enough time to scale up for the late game.
A crucial Abyssal Arrow hit on Mark “LORD HADESS” Lazaro’s Lancelot inside Aura PH’s jungle camp sparked the wipeout that sealed the win for ONIC.
“Nung Game One pa lang malaki na lamang namin kaya kaya na namin manalo, nag kamali lang talaga. Hindi kami nagkaintindihan sa mga calls,” said Kairi in the post-game interview.
“Nung Game Two na comeback namin, tapos nung Gane Three nung nakuha ko yung Selena confident na ako na mananalo kami kasi ilang beses na naming na-practice yun,” he added.
With ONIC PH dominating the early goings of Game One, Aura PH leaned on their magic resistance items to prolong the match and set up a comeback.
The constant flanks coming from Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Esmeralda), who hounded Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog’s Chang’e and Kairi’s Pharsa all game long, paid off as Aura PH secured the 18-16 come-from-behind win.
Bennyqt nabbed the SMART MVP award with eight kills and three assists against two deaths.
Not wanting to go down without a fight, ONIC PH, who only has two turrets left in Game Two after Aura PH took the Luminous Lord, sparked a comeback through a crucial pick off on LORD HADESS’ Granger up top.
ONIC PH then completed the comeback with a wipeout entering the 16-minute mark.
Hate’s Lancelot won the SMART MVP plum with seven kills, two deaths, and three assists in the 14-11 Game Two win.
The two-time MPL-Philippines second placer (7-5) has now tied Bren Esports (6-5) at the third spot in Group A with 18 points each. Meanwhile, Aura PH, who clinched the top spot in the same group after the Game One win, now has 25 points through a 9-3 record.
ONIC PH will cap off the season against the league-leading Blacklist International on Sunday at 4:30 pm while Aura PH will end the regular season against Execration on the same day at 6:00 pm.
