Kai Sotto to sit out Adelaide game vs Perth

Kai Sotto will once again be on the sidelines when Adelaide takes on Tasmania in the 2021 NBL Blitz later in the day.

The 36ers have announced that they will not field the 7-foot-3 Filipino big man in the game, citing “soreness”.

Also sitting out the game is Todd Withers – also due to soreness. Meanwhile, Tad Dufelmeier is a game-time decision.

Composing the lineup against the JackJumpers are Isaac Humphries, Mojave King, Daniel Johnson, Cameron Bairstow, Sunday Dech, Nick Marshall, Dusty Hannahs, Isaac Gattorna, Mitch McCarron, and Emmanuel Malou.

This will be the second game Sotto sits out as he was not also fielded against Perth last Tuesday.

In his debut, the 19-year-old second generation cager had seven points, five rebounds, and a block against Cairns.

Adelaide head coach CJ Bruton has gone on record to say that he will continue to shuffle players in the preseason in hopes of keeping the team healthy come their season-opener against Brisbane on December 5.

“Caring for every player as if their your kid and your prized possession, you want to make sure he is as healthy possible,” he said.

The 36ers currently sit in fourth place in the standings with 10.5 points. They will next face Perth on Friday.
