Kai Sotto will finally feel how it’s like playing with the country’s finest as he will join Gilas Pilipinas in its fourth and final tuneup versus the Lebanese national team, Sunday evening at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.
The 7-foot-2 teenager did not play in Gilas’ previous three tune-ups as he focused on his exams in Ateneo High.
Sotto will be sharing frontcourt duties with his Gilas seniors in Troy Rosario, Japeth Aguilar, Beau Belga, Greg Slaughter, Christian Standhardinger, and reigning four-time PBA Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo.
Completing the 16-man cast for the exhibition match are Matthew Wright, Gabe Norwood, LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Alex Cabagnot, Marcio Lassiter, Stanley Pringle, and Paul Lee.
Not playing will be Arwind Santos, Poy Erram, and Ricci Rivero.
Sunday’s scrimmage is Gilas’ fourth in seven nights. Gilas is gearing up for two home games in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers’ fifth window against Kazakhstan and Iran on November 30 and December 3, respectively.
The Lebanese, on the other hand, are preparing for South Korea for their November 29 match in Busan.
